Yesterday, from my lap

At story time yesterday afternoon one of my 3 year olds crawled into my lap ... they do this a lot. You're a bit like an extension of their mother. Their property.

Me ~ B, I'm trying to read the story. Go and sit over there so you can see properly.

B ~ But I want to sit on your lap.

Me ~ Well, sit on Mrs H's lap instead then.

B ~ But yours is softer!

Out of the mouths of babes and infants eh!?!

Sounds great to me, nothing like snuggling up in a soft warm lap! VERY cute! :)

yeah, don't you wish you could crawl in someone's lap sometimes? Yours is softer... I think that was a grand compliment. They keep you on your toes don't they?

There's naught wrong with a good cuddle.

That is so cute. I had someone climb up on mine yesterday.

What really gets me is when a 5 year old pats my stomach and asks when the baby is coming out!!
and it has happened. the conversation we had afterwards about me being onverweight is not one I would every wish on anyone else in the world lol

I am going to my little one's class on Friday to read them some stories about India. I bought bangles for the girls and little elephants for the boys. I decided that sharing over 800 photos of my trip was too much and ordered some children's books on India from Amazon instead to read to them. They are doing International week in October (an annual affair) and this will be fun for them. I think they will like their pressies better than the reading!

My 'kids' have always said I have a soft lap and good cuddling technique :-)

High praise indeed :-)

Hardback books and soft laps. The things dreams are made of.
