Stop the world I want to get off!

Good grief! Enough already!

Do you ever feel it's all going by just to fast?

Like a merry-go-round, whizzing completely out of control? Because some sick and twisted nutter is at the controls? And you're in danger of being thrown off ... or ... even worse than that, if that's possible ... of thowing up last night's dinner because you can't take any more spinning?

Just like last year, I'm off on a residential trip on Monday; we found out yesterday that the Education authority haven't received our "can we go please" form!

In fact I think I will just go and throw up!

Word verification

**UPDATE** A big thanks to the chaps and chapesses over at Blogger HQ who have deemed me to officially "not be a spam monster!" Hurrah! I swore I was innocent guv!

word verification nightmare

Sooooooooo, it seems that the reason I have word verification on all of my posts ... not comments, posts is because ... and I quote!

"Blogger's spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. "

What characterisitics would those be I wonder?

Friday's Feast #99, cooled and reheated for a sunday morning's brunch!

Appetizer
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you like your job?
I'd have to go with a 6 1/2 at the moment purely and simply because I am mid way through writing end of year reports ... this is also why I'm struggling to blog. 2000 words about each child, 28 children in the class ~ fed up with the sound of my own fingers on the keyboard I am ... I'll be back soon, honest! And job satisfaction will be back to 11 out of 10 by September 5th!

Soup
When was the last time you think you were lied to?
Ummm ... I don't know, the liars around me are obviously very good. Oh wait, Tuesday lunchtime, a playground situation, a child me to "F*&% off!" There wasn't a f#$*ing thing I could do about it! And that he didn't f*%$ing care if I wanted to speak to him about the situation/his language. He then told his mum that he hadn't seen me, I hadn't spoken to me and that he certainly hadn't sworn at me. She called him a f%*£ing liar* and he's now on a 5 day exclusion!

Share some lyrics from own of your favorite songs.
From All About Eve's Martha's Harbour. **

I sit by the harbour
The sea calls to me
I hide in the water
But l need to breathe
You are an ocean wave my love
Crashing at the bow
I am a galley slave my love
If only I would find out the way
To sail you...

Main Course
What do you do/take when you are in pain?
If it's a headache I drink peppermint tea but if it's bad enough I do take medication ... I'm not good at popping pills.

Dessert
Fill in the blanks: My __________ is very __________.
My back lawn is very long and needs cutting. *shouts loudly* "Simon!"

Rrrright you lot!

R is for riotous dancing too!

I accepted the challenge from Doris who was tagged by Cheryl* who got it from Annie, I have to come up with ten facts about me/my life based on ten items beginning with the letter I have been given.

In the best traditions of Sesame Street, "our programme is brought to you today by the letter R and the number 10."

So in my life, R is for ...

Roses ~ Once a month, the dark velvety red kind or rich clotted cream ... just because "it's Tuesday" or because "the sun was shining this afternoon" ~ love them! I don't think anyone should wait for a special occaision to give that special someone roses.

Relaxation ~ do you notice that when your holidays start it takes so long to unwind that by the time the last "knot is undone" it's time to go back to work again?!? Summers in France are such a slow, slow pace that there truly is no choice but to relax ... in fact it's more like a dead stop to be honest :o)

Raspberry Beret ~ the first song that made me realise how damn sexy music can be ... not Prince, just his music or maybe it was the fact that I was 16 and in love and trying desperately not to get caught making out with my boyfriend and there was the song playing over and over and over! I still love it!

Real ~ I'm a real people person, get me away from the plastic people!

Ruth ~ friends, I have a few but people like Ruth dont come along very often ... say I wanted to kill Simon [actually I did on Friday night but that's a story for late night wine fuelled blogging ... go and see Mrs Fizz over at the nuthouse she'll tell you all about that :o) ]; Ruth wouldn't judge me / preach at me / stop talking to me. Instead she'd provide a stone-clad alibi, help me hide the body and mop the blood off the kitchen floor afterwards!

Raita ~ Indian food, my absolute favourite and more than anything I'd like to have lessons, learn to cook really good curries etc my self. I love a really good curry, it doesn't have to be too hot it's all about the flavour for me ... whenever we take the children in school to the Gurdwara we get superb food, the food that most Sikhs would eat at home ~ brindal aloo, daal, roti and of course raita! Just**** made Deb's recipe for Pineapple Zucchini Bread ~ more slat next time but deliciously moist!

Recipe ~ I love to cook and I am always on the look out for new recipes to try out on my unsuspecting husband. I am currently working my way through the Hairy Biker's cookbook ... it's not that either Simon or I are particularly hairy or bikers it's just that their recipes are fab (their caldo verde is well worth trying) , easy to follow and they taste great ... and I have this thing for northern men who flirt and cook*** and I don't really expect you to understand this because I'm not sure I get it myself!

Reading ~ I read constantly, everywhere, everything ... posters, the writing on the back of the bus, the sauce bottles in restaurants. I love to read. If my nose is stuck in a good book I'm not aware of anything else going on around me.

Rant ~ I love blogging for the chance to rant when I need to! It's so freeing to shout outloud on a keyboard knowing full welll that any one who doesn't want to listen can just press the next blog button, up there, in the right hand corner!

... and finally R is for ...

Rodez ~ I knew I'd get France in here somewhere, I fly in to Rodez airport whenever I go to Mum and Dad's ... we're not talking Paris CdG here ... it's small enough that the baggage unloaders need the immigration guy to help as soon as he's stamped all our passports. Then it's a 2 hour nip down the N140 to le laquet ... a lovely little slice of France that still doesn't have broadband!

* Who's not well and could do with a bit of a cwtch**!
** There's that word again Fizz and yes it does have enough vowels and you say it cut-ch ... with the u in cut like a Yorkshire u not a Southern u. You know what I mean don't you! Don't you?
*** especially the big blond one from Newcastle!
**** we're eating it now and it's still warm!

A letter to the oik(s) who broke into my lovely little car on Thursday Night!

my lovely little car as she was before!

Dear Arsehole & any accomplices*

Firstly I would like to say thankyou, for restoring a healthy lack of trust in human nature, that thanks to the generally fabulous attitudes of the group of people whom I call friends and neighbours has been missing of late. I am now back to the vicious, untrusting, "glass is half empty" lets hide ourselves away from the rest of the world cow I was before!

Can you see where you split the door you arsehole?

My car has been collected by the garage chosen by my insurance company, so I am carless. It appears that I cannot have a hire/courtesy car until the insurance company have agreed the garage's estimate ... which will be on Monday afternoon at the earliest! I will have to go and collect said courtesy car during business hours, unfortunately as I am working** this is not possible. I have made other arrangements to get to and from work but had to cancel a "maths in the outdoor environment" course I was due to go on yesterday!

the door is closed at the bottom

You caused quite a considerable amount of damage when you crow-barred the driver's door open 8" to steal my CD player, it's undrivable and probably soaking wet inside now as we had a heavy shower yesterday afternoon. In fact during my conversation yesterday the lady in the garage informed me if they choose to repair the car ... if?? If?? I will need to have my £150 ready when I collect it ... yes I have to pay a £150 excess because of your dishonest thieveing arse! So either £150 poorer or carless. And then there's the matter of my CD player that you stole ... there's an extra excess on that shithead!

P6160006

Then to top it all, on Friday evening after the scenes of crime copper came and dusted poor Lily for finger prints before her trip to the garage, Simon and I had to go and have our finger prints taken too, standing in the pissy police station for an hour, when I could have been relaxing at home ~ abso-bloody-lutely fantastic! As if we had nothing better to do on a Friday evening after a hard week in work! Something that you obviously know absolutely nothing about!

So once again you little gits ~ cheers! I hope you rot in a hell or in some prison/young offenders institution, sharing your cell with a 6' 5" bald, tatooed, weight lifting, ex Hells Angel called Marian who loves to "initiate" young men like you!

Lots of love

Jo xx

* I'm not actually sure if this is the correct plural for accomplice and it doesn't sound quite right but what the hell I'm not sure if the ignorant little bastard(s) can read anyway!
** Maybe you too should consider a job instead of stealing from hard working members of the public you little shit(s)!

Feasting on Friday

Appetizer
What is a word that you use that would not be considered common? "Now then lovely boys!"* Actually it's not that I say "now then lovely boys," it's that I use lots of little snippets of Welsh and Wenglish throughout my speech ~ just like last weeks cwtch. They're quite often swear / exclamation words or those purtaining to food! Just like "fancy some sglods** Si?"

Soup
What theme of calendar do you have on your wall this year?
I have a New Zealand calendar on my wall, it was a present from the lovely
Fi. It came with a matching downloadable screensaver, I look at it and sigh dreamily!

Salad
Name 3 people you speak with by telephone a regular basis.
Mum, Kev and Simone. I don't speak to Ruth half as often as I should BUT we are having breakfast together on Sunday!

Main Course
If you could buy a new outfit for someone you know - who would it be and what would you purchase for them?
Simon so needs some new jeans, blue levi, button flies that he wont be allowed to iron!! For goodness sake, who irons jeans?

Dessert
What is the last beverage you drank?
Drinking a very nice cup of tea made by my darling husband as I type this one handed!

*Actually my brother being ex-army is much more
Windsor Davies than me!
** Sglods ~ from pysgod a sglodion , Welsh for fish and chips.

Finally back from a fab weekend in Wales, got a cwtch* or two in, had ice-cream at Joe's, lovely, lovely, lovely! Accent now rejuvenated enough to confuse the hell out of the colleagues for the rest of the week :o)

* The joys of nephews, except that 2 of them are now taller than me and take longer, much longer in the bathroom than I do too!
