It seems that Angola doesn't love me. But then neither does Mongolia or Turkmenistan or Cameroon or Paraguay or ... *sniff, sniff* Greenland!

Yesterday morning I walked into the back bedroom to iron a t-shirt to find Simon wearing just boxers, sitting cross-legged on the floor drawing a triskelion in permanent black marker on golf balls.
Me - what the hell are you doing?
Him - Identifying my balls
Me - that's easy, that's *points* your left one, and that's *points again* your right one.
Well, you didn't expect me to pass up on the opportunity did you??

Let's not talk about how crap I've been at NaBloPoMo, or how I am going to have to buy a new camera lead because mine has disappeared and let's talk instead about how much I love BBC iPlayer. Missed Mock the Week? Yes! Well watch it now on BBC iPlayer ... and whilst you're at it, if you like Mock the Week, we think you'll want to watch MORE LIKE THIS ... Eggheads ... The National Lottery? Room 101 - yes, but ... The Weakest Link? What? **confused now** Mock the Week is similar to the Weakest Link? How? And because I love Mock the Week, I'm going to love University Challenge? What, Paxo is gonna make me laugh as much as Dara does? Could someone explain that for me please?

Gosh, is it Monday already?
Kenny commented on it but has anyone else noticed that some sneaky whatnot is actually speeding up the clocks over the weekend and then slowing them down again on a Monday. And at the same time, he also turned the taps (faucets) to full today making a July day feel more like early March. We sent 120 5-7 yr olds and their helpers to Broadstairs this morninig, to play on the beach ... they came home like little ice-cubes, true soggy but still ice-cubes. It's global WARMING guys. Shouldn't that mean WARMER - 'cause you seem to have got that one wrong.
Camera still at school - will try to organise myself this morning, i.e. put it into my handbag for tonight ... until then, what school trip days used to look like.

So, I haven't forgotten that this was all about food ... and since I left the camera at school, I googled each of the words below +food and this is what I have come up with - click here to see a slideshow of the images or on the links below. Enjoy your Sunday ;o) I say ... and you think ... ?
Notification :: of a foodie trip to Morocco
Cheat :: a Syrian vegetable dish ... not getting the cheat bit BUT it looks lovely.
Top Ten :: Paratha from Banana Leaf Curry House
Draft :: what happens if you let someone else choose you food at the buffet because you're carrying the draft beer
Unbelievable :: the tacos at Lo Mejor de Michoacan in Paso Robles
Cheap :: Melbourne Cheap Eats Guide - Bismi ... famous for it's dosai.
Spontaneous :: the olive stands at Uzes market ... I'd jump right in with spontaneity!!
Harass :: street food at the Hoher Markt in Vienna ... harassed by the vendors?
Lipstick :: lipstick-red stuffed pimiento peppers ... creative common licence in place on the photo
Transpire :: a family meal could transpire without stress, conflict, without factory farmed vegetables, without overfished fish.
Do some mutterings of your very own and let everyone know about it here!

Anyway back to the point, no photo for today, no photo's of food at all this weekend, so I give you instead a photo of our Indian meal out and ... and I can't believe I'm doing this ... me, dressed as the butterfly from Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar during Book Week @ school **walks away shaking own head at stupidity of actions**
I can't imagine living this down anytime soon.*I obviously have that "she needs comfort food" look on my face.
** The look has obviously been there since last night.

Well it's over and it kicked the hell out of my NaBloPoMo at the first hurdle ...
I'm not allowed to talk about the result, but I'm very happy.
My body (after 4 long 12 hour days in school - without the work I did at home) is complaining loudly, I think I'll go to bed.

And it's "supermarket" ready Chinese ... well it's the end of day 1 of OFSTED and I am knackered. You'll never believe what I did last night - I double-locked the nursery, not realising I was the only one with the key to open it. Luckily because of the dreaded O I've been arriving at school before 7am so the cleaners still had time to hoover and mop but talk about feeling like a right tit :o(
I'm not allowed to talk about how the inspection is going. So I wont. I'll be in there again at 7 in the morning BUT ... hurrah ... by this time tomorrow they'll be gone and hopefully **crosses finger, toes and eyes** they won't be back for 3 years.

Mine (roasted vegetable couscous, salad and some grapes) on the left, his (a Scotch egg, coleslaw, potato salad and some salad) on the right. Which would you prefer?
