Back after a technology free week!

Well, we had a fab week - Mandy and Mark were the best people I could have possibly gone with .... just a few quick photos to give you a flavour!

We went to Dover Castle
Dover Castle
Did some pond dipping! The water lilies were fab!!

Stayed at a little country house I know!
Stayed in a house in the country!
Wandered along woodland paths in dappled sunshine.

Caught small creatures (to look at for a little while ....... we released them later honest!)
I am a vole and I live in a hole!
Went to the beach!
St Margaret's Bay
Went rockpooling! [Is that a real verb?]
Rockpooling
Admired the scenery.
The cliffs to the northDover's white cliffs in all their glory
Created beach art!

Crabs!

I would of course love to show you more pictures, show you banner the children painted which is going to be on display @ exhibitions all around the country, write down their poetry & tell you all the stories, but I can't - children's safety of course. Isn't that sad! Necessary but very sad!

Pics are fantastic.

So, what are 7 year olds like on a residential? I've been away for the weekend with 11/12 year olds and I WILL NEVER, EVER DO IT AGAIN. All night they were in and out of each other's tents and sneaking off to the loos. It is pretty grotesque seeing middle sized ones becoming acquainted with French kissing. And it was absolutely (fucking, bollock numbingly) freezing.

Next week, I'm at the local aqua park, for a day only, but already I'm getting anxious. One of them is bound to skin something, swallow copious amounts of chemically saturated (ha, ha) water, get dive bombed or get thrown out for petting heavily - God the list goes on and on and on....

Walker - hope the party went well, those cliffs are the very ones in the song "there'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover" - St. Margaret's is the next bay up from Dover!

Sara - sorry honey, didn't mean to make you envious! They are fab though aren't they!

Dotty - thanks! Ouch 11 / 12 yr olds - no fear! Entry coming as to our kids today!

Tom - We had a brilliant time!

I love the pictures of the white cliffs. They remind me of one of my favorite old movies, The Chalk Garden.

Hillbilly Mom - don't know the movie, but the cliffs are magnificent - thanks for stopping by!!
