If you want to invite me to dinner - I'd love to come!! I'm very social (get your minds out of the gutter!) and I have good nay, excellent table manners - mainly beaten into me verbally by my grandfather!! But I can't / won't eat the following -
- Tripe - yes, I have tried it, yes it is foul!! I like kidneys, heart, liver & even Riz-de-Veau (Simon is already heaving - but if you want a recipe I have a really good one) but I just can't eat tripe!! [I know I am offending 100s of 1000s of people with this statement - tough titties!!]
- Lychees - I think that if I was to peel "any bloke's bollocks" this is what I would find!!
- Marzipan - don't know why myself!! Especially as I love almonds & Bakewell tart (as a noun not an instruction!!)
- Kumquats - *boke* *hurl* :o(
- Aniseed - more a drinking thing - Pastis, the life blood of the French aperitif circuit - bleugh!! [Mum and Simon like Ricard]
If I have invited you to dinner / am thinking of inviting you (just assume I am, I did say I was very social) .... what won't/don't you eat?

I think I'd go with most of your list. Sorry, but I don't like seafood - fish ok sometimes, but no oysters, shrimp, cockles, etc etc. I make a great bouillabaisse for my wife, but I can hardly stand the smell. Anythin chocolate would be great.
Joe - I love seafood ... but on the night you and your wife come to dinner I won't serve any - my "petits pots au chocolat" will do for dessert though!
Abraham - boiled chicken's feet? I s that why you need the wafers in the morning?
You are so right about lychees. I'll never be able to look at the same way ever again...
I'd love to come to dinner, but please don't serve me shellfish (except scallops) mushrooms or asparagus.
I love fish though, and chocolate, but not together.
lychees are delicious! you gotta be kiddin!
Fi - no problem, shellfish, mushrooms and asparagus off the list! Love scallops and chocolate, never tried them together but I think you might have a point!!
HD - sorry, must have an overactive imagination!! I do regularly keep trying to eat them but they give me the heebie-jeebies!!
I would never eat anything that comes from the inside of any animal, including brains, tongue, eyeballs, add brussell sprouts to that, and OCTOPUS.
Ok Walker - I'll control myself and I won't cook my world famous "offal, octopus and brussel sprout curry"! Sheesh - you don't know what you're missing!! :o)
I don't know of anyone who would eat tripe! Gross, but then I can't eat offal of any kind!
Love seafood with a passion though.... I'm hungry now!
Also, marzipan- Blecchh!!
See ms.mac, you'd be easy to cook dinner for!! I love seafood of any kind - from Arbroath smokies to scallops, squid and sole!!
p.s. next time you're in France don't try the ANDOUILLETTES - they pretend they're sausages, well ... they are but they're piglet tripe sausages!!
Hey thx for the nice comment on my blog...
Here's what I don't like/hate eating (in no specific order though):
1* spinachs... reason? It's green and it tastes absolutely awful... last time I was forced to swallow that (I was 10), I threw up...
2* Brussels sprouts... it's green. Not I don't hate green... ok, I do! But c'mon, that is wayyy disgusting
3* Oysters... is it me, or does that look like snot? *shrugs*
4* andouillettes.... ewww.... double ewwwww.....
5* Anything curry related... I can't stand the smell... and given the fact that I've got the very bad habit of smelling my food before eating it... that'd be a bad idea. (I must have been a dog in a past life... *giggles*)
But I absolutely looove seafood, any kind... oh and I love snails too... typically french... *winks* ...
Ok Katie - when you come to dinner, no spinach, brussel sprouts, oysters, andouillettes or curry!!
Quand vous venez au dîner nous prendrons des escargots et des fruits de mer!
Is it a deal?
Yummy....... now, i'm drooling... scuse me while I go and get some food... *winks*
oooh Good tip! thanks!
Arbroath smokies..... yumm! Hiraeth again!

Katya - I know, bastards!! Come to dinner I promise not to serve them!
